Social Care and Schools Partnership - SCASP

At SCASP, we provide specialist multi-agency coordination to help schools manage complex cases involving safeguarding, SEND, and vulnerable pupils. Our role is to strengthen collaboration between professionals, reduce workload pressures, and ensure that no child falls through gaps in services.

We coordinate professionals involved in complex cases to ensure clarity, accountability, and timely action.

This includes:

• Liaising with social workers, Early Help, CAMHS, health professionals and third-sector partners
• Clarifying roles and responsibilities across agencies
• Tracking agreed actions and ensuring follow-up
• Ensuring information is shared appropriately and securely

By improving coordination, we help prevent delays, reduce duplication, and minimise escalation to crisis intervention.

We support Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and senior leaders in managing high-risk or high-need cases.

Support includes:

• Preparation for child protection conferences and core group meetings
• Professional report writing and documentation
• Oversight of Child in Need and Child Protection plans
• Support with escalation and professional challenge when required

Our involvement strengthens safeguarding oversight while reducing pressure on school leaders.

We assist schools in coordinating multi-agency input for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

This includes:

• Gathering professional evidence for EHCP assessments and reviews
• Coordinating communication between education, health, and care professionals
• Supporting annual review preparation
• Ensuring actions within EHCPs are monitored and implemented

We help ensure statutory processes are robust, timely, and outcome-focused.

We facilitate and attend multi-agency meetings to ensure productive, solution-focused discussions.

Our role includes:

• Setting clear agendas
• Recording actions and responsibilities
• Following up on agreed next steps
• Ensuring the child’s voice remains central
